Existen numerosas ideas sobre cómo aprendemos que gozan de una gran popularidad a pesar de no estar respaldadas por la ciencia. Estos «edumitos» han surgido por la malinterpretación o la tergiversación de investigaciones científicas, o bien son nociones intuitivas que no han superado el escrutinio del método científico. Su aceptación acrítica empaña los debates y los procesos de decisión educativos, a menudo haciéndonos creer que son ideas que cuentan con el aval científico, cuando en realidad no es así. Con el objetivo de contribuir a una educación informada por la evidencia, este libro presenta una recopilación de mitos sobre el aprendizaje muy prevalentes en la comunidad educativa y los contrasta a la luz de la investigación en ciencias cognitivas.
